A Hot Start in ’09
Date: 2009-10 season
After a disappointing defeat in the second round of the 2009 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics made a significant addition for the upcoming season by signing four-time All-Star Rasheed Wallace to beef up the bench. Boston got off to an amazing start and sported a 23-5 record after a win on Christmas Day. While the starting five stayed mostly healthy, injuries to supporting cast members like Glen Davis, Tony Allen and Marquis Daniels meant the bench was constantly in flux. The Celtics were a .500 team after Christmas but still won 50 games and their third straight Atlantic Division title. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo earned All-Stars nods and Rondo also made the All-Defense First Team.
