Boston’s title defense got off to a great start in the 2008-09 season as the C’s won 27 of their first 29 games and the Big Three were all named All-Stars. Unfortunately, a leg injury kept Kevin Garnett from playing much of the second half of the season and the entire playoffs. Kendrick Perkins, along with Glen Davis, Leon Powe and Brian Scalabrine, picked up the frontcourt slack for Garnett while Paul Pierce and Ray Allen upped their scoring efforts to win 62 games and another Atlantic Division crown. Even without KG, the Celtics looked strong in the defense of their championship.
