Hats Off to Fan Favorites

Everyone roots for superstars like Pierce, Bird, Havlicek and Russell. Yet there’s a soft spot in Celtics fans’ hearts for players who aren’t superstars but play hard and connect with fans. Brian Scalabrine and Jim Loscutoff were some examples, as was Tacko Fall. At 7-foot-5, Fall was the tallest player in the NBA when he debuted and the tallest Celtics player of all-time by three inches. The native of Senegal became a fan favorite by posting videos of him learning how to swim with teammates inside the 2020 NBA Playoffs bubble and when he conducted the Boston Symphony Orchestra. When asked about the reaction he gets when people see him, Fall quipped, “I would be surprised to see me, too!”
