Celebrating the Good Guys

The Celtics wore special warmup shirts highlighting the 30th, 40th and 50th anniversaries of three of Boston’s NBA World Championship title teams on April 13, 2016. Given the occasion, the Celtics pulled off an inspiring comeback from a 24-point halftime deficit to beat the Miami Heat, 98-88. A galaxy of Boston stars attended the special game, including Hall-of-Famers Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Tommy Heinsohn, Kevin McHale and Bill Walton. Said Havlicek, winner of NBA World Championship titles in 1966 and 1976, “These are guys we grew up with and many years ago we had one common goal, and to see it all happen and come back and celebrate it again, it’s just amazing.”
