We Come to Win

“We don’t come to play. We come to win.” These words by Red Auerbach headlined the Celtics “prospectus” for the 1975-76 season. Many believed the addition of Charlie Scott from the Phoenix Suns was the kind of acquisition that would put the C’s over the top. The future Hall-of-Famer embodied Auerbach’s motto during that campaign, averaging 17.6 points and 4.2 assists en route to another NBA World Championship title for the Celtics.
