Shining Bright in the Summer League

Following a strong showing in the 2022 Summer League, the Celtics signed Mfiondu Kabengele to a two-way contract in July 2022. The big man averaged 14.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.2 blocks over five games that summer. Prior to joining the Celtics, Kabengele was a reserve player for the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers, appearing in 51 games from 2019 to 2021. Notably, Kabengele’s uncle is NBA legend and Hall-of-Famer Dikembe Mutombo.
