Sharp Shooting Sharman
Date: 1950s to 1960s
Bill Sharman spent his first season in the NBA with the Washington Capitols before heading to Boston in 1951, when he began a career that landed him in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Sharman was a prolific scorer, averaging 18.1 points per game during his 10 seasons with the Celtics. Nicknamed “Bullseye” for his accuracy from the free-throw line, Sharman published a book in 1965 called “Sharman on Basketball Shooting.”
