Rondo’s Big Assist
Date: November 26, 2013
Rajon Rando set up at the Greater Boston Foodbank and donated Thanksgiving meals to 200 families ahead of the 2013 holiday. Late Celtics player Reggie Lewis began a turkey giveaway program in the early 1990s, and many in the Celtics organization had since followed suit. “No one should go to bed hungry,” Rondo said. “Thanksgiving is a holiday where food is central as families come together to celebrate. I wanted to make sure some of Boston’s neediest families were able to have a meal this Thursday.” In between passing out packages, Rondo enjoyed talking to young fans about school, sports and their favorite holiday foods.
