Boston’s third-round pick in the 1984 NBA Draft, Rick Carlisle relaxed in a pair of Converse high-tops. While he played only three seasons with the Celtics, Carlisle said in a 2017 interview that his time in Boston helped change his life. Specifically, it was Celtics President Red Auerbach who helped. Carlisle said, “Red had a great way of making the profound so simple.”
