Red and Max Lead the Way

Red Auerbach and Cedric Maxwell celebrated the team’s 15th NBA World Championship with a 111-102 victory at Boston Garden. The star forward led all Celtics players with 24 points in the decisive Game 7 win against the Los Angeles Lakers. Maxwell taunted Lakers forward James Worthy, who had been tasked with guarding him, by saying after the game, “I said, ‘James, this isn’t the 2-A league. This is the big time and you have to guard me.’”
