The Celtics had their hands full with Jim Pollard and the Minneapolis Lakers during the 1950-51 season. But with the young core of the team that would dominate the decade, including two 22-year-old players in Bob Cousy and Ed Macauley, the Celtics finished second in the Eastern Division. The rivalry between the Celtics and Lakers started to heat up.
