Preparing for Opening Night

Opening Night was just as special for the Celtics Dancers as it was for the players. For many, dancers had to go through weeks of auditions, training, choreography and planning just to get to that first night. Celtics Dancers Director Marina Ortega recruited each team member to audition, rather than hire a dancer based solely on appearances. “There is a caliber you need to be at as an athlete,” Ortega said. In fact, the 2010 audition process was documented as part of a television series called “Celtics Dancers: The Dance for 18.”
