Nearly a Half-Century for Pierce

Paul Pierce laced up his shoes before a game against the Denver Nuggets on January 24, 2003. Pierce torched the Nuggets for 45 points and 10 rebounds to lead Boston to a 77-58 victory at home. Pierce, however, felt he left something on the table. “I wanted to score 50. I think it would have been nice for the fans,” he said after the game.
