The Celtics posted the best record in the Eastern Conference and won their fifth straight Atlantic Division title in the 1975-76 campaign. By the time of the 1976 NBA Playoffs, Boston eliminated the Buffalo Braves, Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns – each in six-game series – to win the 13th NBA World Championship title in franchise history. The NBA Finals matchup against the Suns included a Game 5 triple-overtime nail-biter many basketball fans have dubbed “the greatest NBA game ever.”
