Larkin’s Overseas Opportunity
Shane Larkin, the son of Baseball Hall-of-Famer Barry Larkin, carved out his own niche in basketball. Larkin was a strong bench player for the Celtics in the 2017-18 season and shined down the stretch and in the playoffs after Kyrie Irving suffered an injury. Larkin would parlay that success into a starring role in the EuroLeague, considered the second-best basketball league in the world. He set a league record with a 49-point game, earned the title of MVP of the 2019 EuroLeague Finals and led the league in scoring in the 2019-20 season for Istanbul’s Anadolu Efes. Said Larkin about his journeyman career, “Everything’s been good. I’m just waiting for the right opportunity to come across the board and go from there.”
