It’s Gino Time!

Boston is no stranger to fan traditions. From “Sweet Caroline” to Snow Fireworks, sports fans in the Hub will find any means to celebrate. Celtics fans added their own variant during the 2007-08 NBA World Championship title-winning season. When Boston was far ahead, the team would play a disco-era song and show clips of ’70s-era dancers from “American Bandstand.” One dancer, wearing a tight Gino Vannelli tour shirt, received a huge ovation each time he appeared onscreen, leading Celtics fans to call the ends of these blowout games “Gino Time.”
