While John Havlicek was in the spotlight, Dave Cowens, Jo Jo White and the entire roster all contributed to Boston’s 13th NBA World Championship title in 1976. But the franchise had good reason to feature Havlicek on its 1975-76 yearbook cover. “Every time he steps onto the court, takes a shot or scores a point he breaks his own Celtic record,” wrote Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe about the 14-year veteran. “…Now, at age 35, he admits that he is no longer what he once was. But he doesn’t think he’s that much different, and it’s a safe assumption that he would like to have a season that no 35-year-old man has had before or that, better yet, a season that any 25-year-old would be proud to claim for his own.”
