Havlicek the Organizer

Outside of scoring points, dogged defending and his relentless movement, rigid organization was one of John Havlicek’s defining traits. Once, when a reporter made a joke about seeing Havlicek’s socks on a hanger, Havlicek replied, “I’m a man of routine and discipline. My socks have to dry out. My whole life has been thought out.” Havlicek even autographed a garment bag that was likely used to keep his suits clean and folded.
