Havlicek Signed the Photo

In this photo taken by Sports Illustrated photographer Walter Iooss Jr., Philadelphia 76ers defender Chet Walker looked on in despair as John Havlicek tipped the ball, and Philadelphia’s playoff hopes, away. Appropriately, Havlicek wrote on the photo, “John Havlicek stole the ball.” Hondo’s big play during the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals became one of the most iconic in NBA postseason history.
