Havlicek Had Handles

John Havlicek brought up the ball against the Phoenix Suns in the 1976 NBA Finals, a series in which Havlicek averaged 15.5 points per game and won his eighth NBA World Championship title. Los Angeles Lakers GM Pete Newell called Havlicek a “road runner taking you through every ditch, every irrigation canal, barbed-wire fence and cattle guard. You’ve had a trip over the plains when you’ve played him for a night.”
