Celtics Retire Heinsohn’s Number

On October 15, 1966, the Celtics retired Tommy Heinsohn’s No. 15 jersey, the fifth retired number in franchise history. During that Opening Night game, the Celtics leveraged some Heinsohn magic to defeat the San Francisco Warriors, 121-113. One of his game-worn jerseys is proudly displayed at The Sports Museum in TD Garden today.
