Fans stormed the court after the Celtics won their 17th NBA World Championship title while Ray Allen, James Posey, Kendrick Perkins and Tony Allen celebrated. As Boston’s first title in 22 years, for many fans this was the first Celtics championship they could celebrate. “I grew up watching the Celtics with my father,” said one fan who recently lost his dad. “This is big for me, because he would love to see this.”
