Brushing Up on Community Work
Date: October 2013
Rookie Kelly Olynyk put his “points in the paint” knowledge to use while volunteering at Ellis Elementary in Roxbury as part of the school’s beautification project. More than 100 members of the Celtics organization and textbook publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt joined to paint murals in the gym/auditorium, paint outdoor games on the playground cement, build benches, and garden. Lucky the Leprechaun also made an appearance to read to classrooms full of students. The Celtics have long been involved in aiding schools throughout the Greater Boston area.
