The Celtics played their first home game since the Boston Marathon bombing on April 26, 2013. “[W]e’re anticipating [the crowd] to be very emotional, very inspiring,” Kevin Garnett said before the game. The game marked one of many moments in franchise history in which Boston basketball helped heal the community in times of turmoil. Despite Garnett putting up a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds, the Knicks took a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference First Round with a 90-76 victory.
