Before the Steal

John Havlicek reached around Chet Walker of the Philadelphia 76ers to attempt a layup in Game 2 of the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals. Despite Havlicek’s 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, the Celtics fell on the road, 109-103. The team bounced back to win the series, 4-3, when Hondo made the play known everywhere as “Havlicek Stole The Ball”.
