Beat LA: 2010 Edition

The Boston Celtics-Los Angeles Lakers rivalry is one of the best in NBA history. It’s so heated that when the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Celtics in the 1982 NBA Playoffs, fans at Boston Garden chanted “Beat LA” to urge the Sixers to take out the Lakers in the upcoming NBA Finals. Fortunately, the Celtics have largely been able to take care of business on their own: in the 12 times Boston and Los Angeles have met in the NBA Finals, Boston won nine championships. Although the Celtics fell to the Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals, fans brought out the “Beat LA” chant and held up signs with the memorable phrase.
