In a rare occasion where he did not come out on top, Red Auerbach finished eighth on Cigar Aficionado’s list of greatest cigar smokers in the twentieth century. While he couldn’t quite match Winston Churchill, he finished ahead of a different Boston sports figure in Babe Ruth. Auerbach kept this ashtray for his multi-cigar a day regimen at his home.
