Ainge in the Spotlight

Danny Ainge was an indispensable part of two Celtics NBA World Championship teams in the 1980s. A great shooter and quick defender, Ainge recalled later that the 1986 team was “the greatest of all time.” Ainge returned to the Celtics in 2003 as the Director of Basketball Operations, helping the Celtics win another title in 2008 before stepping away in 2021. When Ainge was considered for the front office job, Red Auerbach said, “Go with Danny Ainge. He’s just lucky.”
