A Scoring Machine
Date: 1970s
In a game against the Detroit Pistons, John Havlicek levitated over future Celtics player and Head Coach Chris Ford as he took aim at the basket. Havlicek’s best scoring years came during the 1970-71 and 1971-72 seasons when he averaged 28.9 and 27.5 points per game, respectively. This productivity helped boost Havlicek to his 26,395 career points, currently the most in Celtics history and strong enough for 17th on the NBA’s all-time leaderboard.
